Your Taster Day gives you an insight into the subjects you have selected and what a typical College day looks like. When you attend your Taster Day you will have a better idea of what to expect when you enrol with us and begin your studies in September.
What to expect on the day
Make your way to the tutor room shown on your timetable. Take a look at the map on your leaflet or collect one on the day; there will be plenty of people in and around the College to point you in the right direction, as well as staff, student helpers and Health and Wellbeing Student Mentors available to answer questions.
Your visit begins with a tutor session to welcome you and explain a bit more about the day. You will experience a lesson in each of your chosen Taster Day subjects.
Each lesson will get you actively involved in the subject. You should come away having learnt something new and may also have some simple preparation or reading tips for the summer holidays.
At lunchtime, food will be available from the food stalls in the quad and at various other outlets around campus. This is a good opportunity to explore and find out more about clubs and societies, sport, College productions, and music and dance ensembles.
Towards the end of the day you will regroup with your Taster Day tutor, have the opportunity to ask questions and share your experiences of lessons and the Taster Day in general.
If you live on a College bus route you will be able to travel free of charge on Taster Day. Bus information will be available here.
If you’re unable to use any of the College bus routes you will need to make your own way here www.barton-peveril.ac.uk/getting-here
