What subjects do you study?
What are your plans for when you leave Barton Peveril?
“I intend on progressing to higher education, I’ve had one-to-ones with my tutor to discuss what route I want to take; I hope to attend either Southampton or Winchester University to study Psychology but as of yet I haven’t decided if I want to dig deeper and pick a specific element to study. My tutor provides with me with all the help I need, by informing me on looking at the wider picture and thinking of what careers my degree could lead to. This does benefit me and the decision I’ll eventually make.”
What do you particularly enjoy about Barton Peveril?
“I love the atmosphere and student life, I feel like not only does Barton prepare you for the life beyond the last stage of compulsory education but the social element. It helps you build communication skills by interacting with people you don’t know and stepping outside your comfort zone; this later would benefit any sector of the working industry any individual would enter. There are always lectures going on about different topics, they’re very useful in terms of they could help one finalise decisions like whether university is for them or even talks from well-known individuals which could help one choose a career or gain some form of interest upon in.”
What do you think of the support offered at Barton Peveril?
“The support offered is amazing, this is rather biased as it’s based upon my course teachers. Subject teachers always give feedback upon my strengths and weaknesses enabling me to work upon myself and better my work to get my desired grade. My tutor provides me with overall support and it’s beyond my courses so it’s very beneficial.”
