English Literature, Psychology and Sociology

What are your plans for when you leave Barton Peveril?

“I intend on progressing to higher education, I’ve had one to ones with my tutor to discuss what route I want to take; I hope to attend either Southampton or Winchester University to study Psychology but as of yet I haven’t decided if I want to dig deeper and pick a specific element to study. My tutor provides with me with all the help I need, by informing me on looking at the wider picture and thinking of what careers my degree could lead to. This does benefit me and the decision I’ll eventually make.”

What influenced your decision to come to Barton Peveril?

“I think I’ve always known that I wanted to attend Barton after family and friends spoke so highly of not only the environment but teachers. What made me finalise the decision would be attending the Open Evening where I spoke to teachers that taught the subjects I wanted to take, the Taster Day made me realise that I loved the atmosphere and would be able to further my learning here.”

What do you think you have gained from your studies?

“I’ve learnt that how well I do in my courses is down to how I manage my work load and how I should stick to my study periods. I’ve gained independence and new skills like time management and keeping myself organised. I absolutely love all the subjects I’ve taken and feel that I’ve made a good decision. My teachers all constantly inform me that I shouldn’t only rely on them and class periods to get a good grade.”
