Important Information – Bus Services 2021-22

Details on how to purchase tickets and timetables for the new academic year are now live on the Bluestar and Xelabus websites.  Please refer to them for information.

When purchasing a Bluestar ticket, in order to not be charged a higher price it is important to follow these steps:

  • Install the app and register with your email address
  • You will get a verification email to your Barton Peveril email address which you need to activate
  • You can then go through the app and purchase your ticket
  • If it does not show the correct price of £495 (for an annual pass) or £300 (for the first instalment of 2) please call Bluestar
  • You do not need to add a discount code.

If the cost shows a higher value of £755 or £500 having followed the steps above, please contact Bluestar.

Annual Bus Passes for 2021/22 – £495

When we announced the subsidy for 2020-21 we explained that in 2021-22 the price for an annual pass would return to its more normal level of around £650. However, despite the expectation that Covid restrictions will have been lifted and that attendance patterns will return to normal, the College has decided to provide a stepped approach back up to the regular annual bus pass price and has therefore taken the decision to provide a subsidised bus pass cost for 2021-22.  We have set the annual bus pass price for 2021-22 at £495. Tickets can be purchased directly from Bluestar and Xelabus later this Summer.  Student Financial help and support is available for Barton Peveril students.  For information about financial support towards travel costs please see our student finance pages.

Payment can be made in full or in two instalments, once on sale.  Payment is made directly to the bus operator and if choosing two instalments, £300 is required when purchasing the pass and £195 no later than 1st December.

Other tickets available

Other ticketing options are available on board.  Monthly, weekly and daily tickets may be available, please refer to the bus operator websites for details.
