What is the Professional Performance Studies in Music course?

It is an exciting two year programme that gives promising young musicians the opportunity to develop practical performance skills to professional level.

How does the course work?

In addition to studying A Level Music, students will participate in 4.5 hours of practical music tuition in pop and jazz styles. All students will receive one hour of weekly individual tuition on two instruments (one to be keyboard or piano) as well as weekly jazz or pop band coaching. Students on the course would have opportunities to perform at a range of events throughout the year and will be encouraged to study for an ABRSM Diploma on their main instrument. They will also learn how to prepare for a career in music.

“Since year 9, I had been set on coming to Barton Peveril. Being a student at Wyvern, I was lucky enough to work closely with Barton students in workshops and at concerts, and this really sparked my interest in the College.”
