The governing body of Barton Peveril Sixth Form College is known as the Corporation. This lively group of 20 men and women works with our senior leadership team, staff, students, auditors and inspectors to ensure that students of all ages are offered the best possible experiences during their time at college and that the needs of the local community are met.

Chartered Accountant; worked as a partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers in the UK and Europe; currently with Smith and Williamson; parent of a former student.
Principal of the College
Principal of the College since 2008; previously Principal of Richard Taunton Sixth Form College; also worked at Alton College, Brockenhurst College and The Sixth Form College Farnborough, where he started as an English teacher in 1987; two sons attended Barton Peveril.
Senior Academic, Sport Management, Bournemouth University; one son has completed his courses at Barton Peveril College and another son is a current student.
Chair of the Finance and Employment Committee
A Chartered Accountant with a long career in financial services, including senior roles in investment banking at HSBC and Deutsche Bank; now a Leadership and Management Consultant focussing on individual, team and organisational performance improvement; previously a Councillor at Winchester City Council where he was Portfolio Holder for Finance.
Health and Safety Governor
Director in a large international construction cost and project management consultancy practice; ex-student; has run youth hockey teams for Trojans and Hampshire Junior Academy Centre over many years. Peer reviews and supports College construction projects.
Retired Head Teacher, most recently at The Hamble School (11-16 years) (previously a PE teacher); currently runs an educational consultancy company – iMPACT Consultancy, a lead facilitator for the Future Change Makers Programme which is a senior leadership development programme at the ETC Alliance (Wildern School) and a facilitator on Winchester Universities National Professional Qualification for Headship programme; Chair of Governors at Bay CE School.
Leader of Eastleigh Borough Council and also County and Town Councillor; Board Member at Homes England; experience as an international election monitor and democracy trainer; ex-student and parent of former students.
Chair of Audit
Retired Chartered Accountant with a career embracing Big Four accountancy, the voluntary and private sectors; governance roles in health and the charity sector; parent of former students.
Chair of the Standards, Students and Curriculum Committee
Former Parent Governor; formerly Head of Non-medical Education at Portsmouth’s Queen Alexandra Hospital,
encompassing nursing and midwifery, all allied health professionals, clinical scientists and the wider non-clinical
workforce; currently Lead for Nursing workforce – secondment to NHSE
Former Barton Peveril student; Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of Winchester and Justice of the Peace in Southampton.
Recently retired Partner at Blake Morgan LLP, specialising in Employment Law; starting a new position as Partner at Foot Anstey LLP in January 2020.
Nuclear Physics graduate, retired from a senior management post in a multi-national company involved in quality performance management, financial planning and strategic leadership.
Entrepreneur who started a series of businesses in Silicon Valley before coming to the United Kingdom. Recently retired Director, Innovation at Southampton University, with entrepreneurial and international management experience.
