Scott Stroman, Head of the Jazz Programme at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, spent a day at Barton Peveril leading the College’s first Festival of Wind and Brass.
Talented Y10 and 11 instrumentalists from partner schools joined A Level musicians for a day of ensemble performance and composition workshops. The exciting opportunity to learn from one of the UK’s foremost music education experts concluded with a twilight performance for friends and family.
Scott will be making a return visit in the autumn when he will conduct the first performance of the Barton Community Concert Band. For further information contact Gary Williams, head of music: gdw@barton.ac.uk
