Former student Dani King put the 2012 Olympic Velodrome through its paces and broke a world record when she was called up to race in the team pursuit UCI World Cup final at the eleventh hour.
Dani replaced Olympic silver medallist Wendy Houvenaghel for the race alongside Joanna Rowsell and Laura Trott. The trio’s textbook performance won them the team pursuit gold medal and smashed the world record. Dani attended Hamble Community Sports College before coming to Barton Peveril.
