Barton Peveril will represent the South East at the British Colleges Volleyball Championships next spring after beating teams from five colleges including Peter Symonds and Tauntons at the regional championships in Guildford.
William Davison, Tom Davison, Nathan Feltham, Nori Kawamoto, Cameron Mudd and Jack Donaghey proved the effectiveness of different strategies and plays throughout their matches, winning the final against Tauntons by just one point 21-17, 18-21.
The girls’ team of Zara Hill, Weronika Chojnadia, Charlotte Lewis, Alessandra Amato, Robyn Allsop and Alyssa Thompson also beat Tauntons 21-19, 21-18, but lost out to Richmond and Chichester.
Head of PE at Barton Peveril, Andrea Griffin, said: “We fielded two very strong teams who have trained extremely hard from the start of the season.
“Our focus is now on winning the boys’ finals at Bath University in April and becoming national champions!”
