Your time at 6th form college is a vital stepping stone to securing a place at university or embarking on a career.
Our highly experienced careers team organises events throughout the year including a Higher Education Fair and Futures Day when we welcome more than 100 local employers, gap year organisations and university admissions tutors to Barton Peveril.
The Careers Resource Centre has an extensive range of reference material with staff on hand to offer advice on higher education, employment and training. A Youth Support Services advisor from Hampshire County Council is also available for 1:1 guidance sessions.
We have a well-structured professional work experience programme and students also have the opportunity to undertake voluntary work which may be accredited towards a Certificate in Community Volunteering.
Interview techniques, writing a personal statement, completing finance forms, submitting UCAS applications, securing a job or apprenticeship…help is at hand throughout your time with us. Specific guidance is given to Gifted and Talented students and others interested in applying to Oxbridge and Russell Group universities.
