The 1160 students who sat A-level exams at Barton Peveril this summer have maintained the excellent results of recent years.
A 76% A* to C pass rate at A-level and overall pass rate of 98.3% for students taking A-levels and the Extended Project sits in line with results for the past seven years.
67% of those taking the Extended Project attained A* to B grades. More than 100 students achieved at least two A/A* grades in their A-levels, setting them up for places at the most selective universities.
In vocational courses students achieved a 100% overall pass rate with 75% receiving distinction grades – equivalent to A* to B at A-level – in Business, Sport, Media, IT, Health & Social Care and the Performing Arts.
Barton Peveril principal, Jonathan Prest, said: “This year’s results underline the consistently high achievements of students leaving Barton Peveril. Congratulations to them all!
“These young people go out into the worlds of higher education, apprenticeships and employment with strong academic profiles but also the broader knowledge and confidence that will enable them to succeed in their chosen careers.
“Families have a huge role to play in the success of young people in further education and results day not only provides us with an opportunity to applaud our amazing students but also their teachers and all those who have given valuable support and guidance.”
